Activity lesson for students to design a theme park and draw it to scale. There is a student self and peer assessment sheet also. Students love this as it is a bit more inspiring than design a bedroom or garden and students will talk about size estimates for real life objects. Also good for display work.**** updated for a bit more challenge

This is a nice introduction into scale drawings and ratios. Tested on a lower ability year 10 set and was very useful in getting the subject across. Ideal for use with all abilities whether to introduce or recap a subject.

I teach functional maths to young offenders and often find it difficult to engage learners on the topic of ratio and scale drawing. I created this activity to introduce the concept of scaling drawings up and down without the need to calculate or measure. A useful introduction to scale for a mixed ability group.
